The Old Man and the Bird (short film)

Snowflakes drift through the forest. An old man, as old as the hills, lives alone in a secluded hut. Winter is so cold that he can hardly move his limbs. When a robin flies against a window and falls to the ground, the old man must first pause to think. Then he pushes open the heavy front door and stomps outside to help the bird.

Outside in the deep snow he falls. But as soon as he takes the tender creature in hand, a change comes over him. Life shines in bright colors and returns to the old man’s hut as it used to be back in the days. Or is this just a last memory? An inventive animated ruminating about love, farewell and the cycle of life.
